Blitzkreig

Blitzkrieg
Born: August 2, 1975 in Southern California

There may never be wrestler with the impact and a career as short as Blitzkrieg. The cruiserweight division was a big part of World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and for a brief time Blitzkrieg was one of the top wrestlers in the division with his high-flying style and high impact moves.
Blitzkrieg started in wrestling career in later 1994 with All Pro Westling (APW) in a tag team match with Hellblazer as his partner. Blitzkrieg and Hellblazer would go on to lose the match and would begin feuding with each other. The feud would reach the boiling point in August 1997, in tag team where Blitzkrieg would team with Super Dragon in a winning effort over Hellblazer and American Wild Child.

By 1998, Blitzkrieg signed with WCW and made is television debut against Rey Mysterio Jr on Februray 8th during an episode of Nitro. Over the next few months, Blitzkrieg would face several of the top cruiserweights and would face Juventud Guerrera at Spring Stampede in a match to determine the number contender, in which Guerrera gave Blitzkrieg a Juvi Driver off the top rope for the victory. Guerrra’s title shot turned into a four-way boat with Blitzkreig, Psicosis, and the champion Rey Mysterio Jr. Psiciosis would pin Blitzkrieg for the win and the would become the champion, as for Blitzkrieg he would get another shot at the title once Mysterio Jr reclaimed the title, but would go down in defeat. Blitzkrieg would wrestle on several house shows before meeting Evan Karagias in a number one contenders match but would lose and retire from wrestling a month later. Blitzkrieg’s final match was a tag team with Kaz Hayshi where they would lose to Guerrera and Sliver King. Blitzkrieg would be become a full-time computer technician and would later become registered nurse after graduating from University of Texas at Austin.

On December 12, 2004 at a wrestling event in California, Blitzkrieg finalized his retirement from the ring by allowing Jack Evans to assume the Blitzkrieg gimmick and attire. Evans become inspired to become a pro wrestler because of Blitzkrieg. Evans would compete Blitzkrieg II for a short time to honour the original Blitzkrieg.

In 1999, the Wrestling Observer named Blitzkrieg the Rookie of the Year and with ranked as the 99th best wrestler on the PWI 500. To this day, wrestling fans wonder what kind of career Blitzkrieg could have had if he had continued his in-ring career. He had the talent to be a decent star, but we will truly never know how blitzkrieg’s career would have ended.

Pro Wrestling's Mount Rushmore

In sports, the debate continues to rage as fans discuss who is the greatest of all-time or who should is on their Mount Rushmore in a specific sport, and it is no different in professional wrestling. Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair in WCW For me, the greatest wrestling of all-time is Ric Flair. Flair had the ability on the mic to cut amazing promos, his in-ring work was fantastic, and he had the “IT” factor. As for my Mount Rushmore of professional wrestling, I would have Ric Flair, Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, and the fourth spot I feel is interchangeable, but I go with Andre the Giant. Since the mid-1970s, Ric Flair has used the moniker “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair, and is regarded as one of the best all-round talents in the wrestling business of all-time. Flair had a 40-year career, spanning from 1972 until 2012, and has noted tenures with Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, later WWE) and Total Nonstop Action Wres...
